We know that stained glass, especially a customized piece is very personal . The need for function as well as form must be considered when undertaking even the smallest project.

This section of our web site walks you through a desciption of all the steps from contact, to you getting your finished project. Take a few minutes to look over this section and get comfortable with the process. Commissioning a specific project is not as difficult as you might think.

With the help of a computer, we can design just about any stained glass pattern that you may want. We can combine more than one photo to create a one of a kind pattern. The possibilities are endless.

Keep in mind that dispite the many technological achievements since stained glass was first created dating back a thousand years to pre-medieval Europe. Stained glass windows are still done the same manual way, one piece at a time.

Please note that there are some standards for quoting larger projects based on square footage and the number of pieces.

Be aware that aside from the expense to design and the building of your window, it will be your responsibility for installation. We will work closely with you or your builder to ensure that your window will fit perfectly.

Commissioning a Stained Glass Project

The first step is to schedule an appointment with us to discover what it is that you are looking for in your quest for a stained glass piece. It is very helpful if you have in mind what style and color you would like and what your budget is for the project. Pictures of existing pieces that you may find in magazines or on the internet are very helpful. We will give you some ideas such as color combinations, lighting, and textures for your piece. We will require the measurements of your project in order to come up with a preliminary quote. Commissions are mainly priced by size and number of pieces. Keep in mind, more pieces, means more labor and more cost.

We will contact you to review the design, glass and color choices for your stained glass project.
After your approval of design, color and glass choosen, we will then be able to provide you with a final price. The project usually takes a minumum of 4 weeks to complete depending on the size and complexity of the project.

After your project is completed, we will contact you to arrange a time for pick up. Payment will be expected at this time. We are only the provider of the stained glass product and will not be responsible for any installation or any damage caused by faulty installation.

If you are having a stained glass panel made that will hang in an existing window, please have an idea of how you would like it framed (wood or zinc).

If you are commissioning us from outside our immediate local area, we can arrange for shipping at your expense. Total payment must be recieved before we can ship your stained glass piece. All correspondence for the project can be done via email, phone, mail or fax.
